Public transport is an underused resource, especially by tourists. If you come to a foreign country or just a different area in your own country, you may not know how the public transport system works and therefore choose other solutions for getting around.
In Møre and Romsdal county in Norway, the county authority's department for public transport has developed the concept "Travel like the locals", "packaged trips" with public transport. Trips are easily awailable for booking online, and makes it easy for visitors to undertake "complicated" trips by public transport without having to get familiar with all the quirks of the local public transport system.
As project manager for the "Travel like the locals" offering, Marit Holen has developed the concept from the very early days and is responsible for the daily management of the solution.
Marit has also helped the neighbouring Vestland county adopt the concept.
Marit is available to present the "Travel like the locals" solution to interested parties and share insights and experience.
