Matthias Beyer is Founder and Managing Director of mascontour GmbH, a Berlin based international consulting firm for resilient and sustainable tourism development. He has been working as an international consultant and expert for resilient and sustainable tourism management for 19 years (around 170 projects in 60 countries). Since 2016, he has been an associated partner of the Centre for Sustainable Tourism (ZENAT) at the Eberswalde University of Applied Sciences for Sustainable Development. He is a quality coach of the QMS "ServiceQualität Deutschland" and holds certificates in "Capacity WORKS" and "Project Management for Sustainable Development – PM4SD" (APMG International), as well as a certificate as sustainability manager (2021-2024) with TÜV Rheinland approved qualification. Moreover, he is an accredited trainer of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and member of various associations, including the Sustainability Committee of the German Travel Association (DRV). Matthias has been a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Bremen since 2008.
